Istanbul

I know it's been a long time since I last posted...but I figured it was a good time. Won't be long cause the battery on this laptop is about to die...just sitting here at a hotel in Istanbul about to go see some of the city. We went to the Grand Bazaar yesterday and all I can say is 'WOW'...you can get lost real quick if you're not careful. Well just wanted to tell everyone I'm having a great time and we'll be heading back home tomorrow. Will give more info on my trip when I get back if you're interested.

From a little bit different part of the world---

"So what are you doing??"

I know I haven't put anything on here in a loooong time. Things are pretty much the same with me...always working on the tv show. I feel like a broken record whenever someone asks me what I am doing... "working on the show!"

I'm trying to get several shows done this week so that I can actually take a week off from work for Thanksgiving. I'm REALLY looking forward to being able to see my family and friends from home. It's been too long...plus I'll get to spend some quality time with my dad hunting and maybe see the nice 8-pt buck he's been seeing around our place! Should be interesting...Kelly is bringing down his two puppies, Charlie & Snoopy, plus having Sadie around too! I'm  sure there will be some fun times and interesting photos...so I'll try to post some when I get back.

Sorry there's not much else interesting going on in my life right now. I'd appreciate yall praying for me right now though...I've been feeling like I am starting to have a bit more than allergy problems this past week....trying to ward off actually getting sick...cause that won't be nice to go home with!!! Also, for those of you who know me well, you know I am usally pretty optimistic and easy going...but lately I've been struggling with being the total opposite. It upsets me that I've been feeling and acting the way I have as of late, so I'm trying to figure out what's been causing it so I can move past it. Hope everyone is doing well and stay safe while you travel over the holidays!

Texas is too hot!

OK....so I sit behind a Mac all day and edit video in an air conditioned room. Having been doing this all summer long, I've not been outside a lot. I guess you could say I have a "studio tan".  Well, yesterday I got to venture outside when we went down to Salado and shoot video for a commercial. We ended up shooting outside for a couple of hours right in the heat of the afternoon and it was 104 degrees the whole time. Lets just say I now have a bit of color to my skin....I don't tan...I burn! It wasnt too bad, but I do have pink shoulders and a bit on my face. It got so hot that I seriously thought I was going to pass out! Needless to say, I was quite exhausted yesterday and am very glad to be back in my air conditioned room!

Stay cool yall!

Happy Birthday Mama!

Today is my mama's birthday!!! I wish I could have been able to be with her on her birthday, but alas, I was unable to. I got her a really cute Dachshund charm from James Avery to match her new little Dauchsund...Sadie. Now she can take Sadie with her wherever she goes! She is such a cutie...and as my parents say, she's my little sister who takes after me apparently--she's allergic to a bunch of stuff!  Isn't she the cutest puppy??

Well, I took the 3 Go Now interns up to Debriefing last Friday. Its been really quiet around here ever since! Matt, Mirm & the kids got back today from their trip to Turkey so the past several days it's just been the two Millers and me. I can't believe that the summer is over already. I tell you what though, not going back to school in the fall really does make a "summer" feel different. I've decided to start thinking of the different parts of the year as summer, fall & spring instead of semesters anymore. That's just weird to me!

I got to visit my Grandpa this weekend. I don't get to do that nearly enough! I think he really enjoyed my visit. We went to dinner with his friend, Lena, I helped him fix his computer and set up his DVD Recorder. I love hanging out with my grandpa...he always has a bunch of stories to tell!

Even though the summer was extremely busy, this fall is only going to continue to get busier. We will be trying to wrap up two HUGE video projects in the next two months, plus a whole bunch of stuff regarding the TV show. Oh yeah, I got to be in charge of a couple of video shoots this summer. Matt couldn't shoot video and we really needed the footage, so he sent Marty, Cole & me to Conroe to shoot an event. To be honest, I really didn't want to be the person in charge, but it made me step outside of my comfort zone & I think I did pretty well! I even figured out how to set the back focus on a camera on location...not necessarily the way that I would have preferred to learn...but learn I did nonetheless! I'm constantly being put in situations that cause me to push myself to step out of my comfort zone & its really been good for me. I look at where I was at this time last year and can't believe how far I have come!

This time last year....lets see...I was at home for a couple of weeks waiting to come back to the farm to help out with G3S2 and get the TV show up and running. I had no idea how to edit video, still hated making phone calls, had never shot video, plus a whole bunch of other cool stuff. Being able to teach the interns this summer some of the stuff I have learned over the past year really made me think about all that I've done. The weird thing was that a lot of the stuff I've learned (like Final Cut Pro especially) I didn't necessarily learn by being taught but mainly by watching Matt & just playing with it myself. So who knows what else I will have learned by this time next year or where I will be! Wherever He leads me I will follow!

Well, I think I am going to go to bed. We have a bunch of guests in right now & I have to get up early to fix breakfast for everyone. Yum! Oh yeah, I have to go to the dentist tomorrow. I've had a lot of pain in the back of my gums and my jaw has been absolutely killing me this week. Not really sure what's causing it, but I'm not exactly excited about a dentist poking around in my mouth when it hurts a whole bunch. Guess I should just suck it up so maybe they can give me something for the pain. Alright...enough complaining....Hope everyone had a great summer! There...I finally posted...happy??!!

End of Summer

Alright...well I promised some people the other day that I would update on here...but it's just been an absolutely crazy week. I will be taking back our Go Now Missions interns back to debriefing tomorrow in Dallas. Wow...I can't believe the summer is already over! It seems like it just started. Well, its late and I have to get up EARLY in the morning. Will have a whole lot better update when I get back from this weekend!
